Fans may be waiting on Jamie Vardy, but Arsenal are reportedly preparing to announce one transfer deal this week regardless.
The Sun report Nigerian teenager Kelechi Nwakali will formalise his transfer to the club from his country's Diamond Academy.
Nwakali turned 18 at the weekend, and can play up front and in an attacking midfield role. The Sun report Arsenal will pay £3 million for his signature.
He told FIFA.com two years ago that he counts his role model as Manchester City ace Yaya Toure.
The Mirror reported back in March that Nwakali had agreed to sign for Arsenal, but there had been no official announcement from the club, and that is now expected to materialise this week.
Nwakali impressed for Nigeria in the 2015 under-17 World Cup, following in the footsteps of Kelechi Iheanacho who dazzled in 2013, and clinched a move to Manchester City, making an impact for them in the Premier League this past season.
It is not the only City connection, with Nwakali's older brother Chidiebere Nwakali signed by Manchester City three years ago, spending most of his time out on loan abroad.
Arsenal are currently waiting on a bigger deal, with Jamie Vardy still to make up his mind whether to switch from Leicester City to the Gunners after his release clause was activated.
He has kept them waiting since Friday, but if he agrees to a move, Arsenal may have a much bigger deal to announce than Nwakali's transfer, even if long term, he could prove to be a shrewd acquisition.
