Ray Parlour has suggested that Southampton should look at Frank De Boer or David Moyes, who were both linked with Everton.

Ray Parlour has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 8th June, that Frank De Boer or David Moyes would be great additions for Southampton.

The Saints are expected to be on the look out for a new manager in the near future, with Ronald Koeman likely to join Everton in the near future.

Koeman’s departure is a major blow for the south coast club, but Parlour believes that there are options out there for the Saints to turn to.

“Someone like Frank De Boer would be perfect,” the former Arsenal midfielder said. “It’s a great club Southampton with great facilities and a training ground.

“David Moyes would suit Southampton. It would be a great move for him.”

Southampton were not expecting to be looking for a new manager next season, with Koeman initially stating that he was not interested in the Everton job.

However, the promise of extra finance with the Toffees appears to have turned his head and he is expected to be announced as Everton boss in the next few days.

De Boer and Moyes were both originally linked with Everton, before Koeman’s move was announced, meaning they could show the Toffees what they are missing if they did take the job at St. Mary's.

At the moment, it seems that Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is the favourite to take over at Southampton, but they have also been linked with the likes of Manuel Pellegrini and Unai Emery.
