The Dutch international is likely to cost around £12 million and at 21 he would represent a typical Spurs signing under Mauricio Pochettino.

Kane did enjoy more success at taking people on however (50.53% to 46.05%), and hit the target with more of his shots (60% accuracy compared to Janssen's 55%).

Of course it must be noted that Janssen's achievements came in a Dutch league not notorious for its defensive strength, but the figures nevertheless represent a fantastic return for a 21-year-old striker.

Janssen's proficiency across all aspects of centre-forward play - particularly his hold-up play and precise finishing - would ensure Spurs have reliable cover for their leading man.

Better still, the prospect of Janssen and Kane forming a formidable partnership would be a strong possibility and is sure to have the White Hart Lane faithful dreaming of things to come should the deal go through.
