Manchester United fan - Moyes doesn't seem to get it

Old Trafford 2

Here's something sent in by a Manchester United fan on the subject of manager David Moyes and his future at the club.

'I would love David Moyes to turn it around at Manchester United, but look at the table - 5 points behind a decent Liverpool team in the fourth spot. And we certainly won't be catching Chelsea, Arsenal or ManchesterCity, so fourth is all we are realistically aiming for.

Forget winning silverware - if we don't qualify for the Champions League next year, you can guarantee that Wayne will be off - he's 29 next season and wont want to wait until he's 30 to play against Europe's best again. And without him, we have no creativity - he has been playing like Paul Scholes of late.

I've supported Manchester United for the last 35 years; its always been nail-biting and exciting, but not under Moyes. Like Gary Neville said recently, there's no great effort at the end of games to turn things around if we are behind, or need a goal. Moyes just doesn't seem to get it.

Four defeats at home in the league is mid-table form - and the table doesn't lie. What should Manchester United do, then ?

Well, sign some decent players for a start - don't rely on the average players we have in the squad. Apart from Rooney, RVP, De Gea, Vidic, Carrick (give this man a medal for his performances over the past 3 years) and Janujaz, we really have nothing to offer. And without the two upfront, no-one is scared of us any more.

I can't stress enough how much the Glazers need to invest in Manchester United's future right now. Reus would be a great addition as would Gundogan, but they wont want to come to Old Trafford - we have nothing to offer. Who will want to come to work with Moyes ? And if we don't finish fourth this year and Wayne leaves, then there's even less reason for star players to want to come to Manchester United.

I ain't giving up on Manchester United yet though - we always come back! But at the moment this season feels like the first 85 minutes at Camp Nou in Barcelona in 1999 - playing awful, 5 minutes left, needing a goal. But, this time, is it gonna come with Moyes at the helm ?'.
