Celtic's appointment of Brendan Rodgers has created great excitement around Parkhead.
The Bhoys have appointed Rodgers as their boss, following the departure of Ronny Deila at the end of last season.
Rodgers is expected to take Celtic to new heights, and Freedman has backed the Northern Irishman to be a success.
“Brendan’s a big fish. Very sought-after around the world. I saw him in Dubai a month ago and had a long chat with him,” he said.
“He took a good bit of time out, had a look at himself and there were a couple of private things. He felt he was ready to come back this summer and when you meet the board of Celtic, there’s no doubt about how big the club is.
“Brendan also has a fantastic chance to win trophies, which is always good for your CV. The view is that he deserves a big job and it’s good to see him back in.”
Rodgers had been out of work following his sacking as Liverpool manager, prior to his move to Celtic.
Rodgers’ first task at Celtic will be to guide the Glasgow club into the Champions League, before his attention will turn to delivering their sixth title in a row.
Celtic are expected to face increased competition in the Scottish Premiership next season, due to the return of their main rivals Rangers.
Rodgers is likely to be backed with funds after arriving at Celtic, with the Bhoys wanting to show their ambition.
Celtic have already been linked with a host of players ahead of the summer transfer window, including the likes of Andre Wisdom, Robert Snodgrass and Danny Graham.
