Is this how Manchester United could line up next season?

Manchester United announced on Wednesday they have completed the signing of Villarreal centre-back Eric Bailly.

After snapping up the Ivory Coast defender, talk is already turning to their next potential signing, with The Guardian reporting the Red Devils are chasing former academy midfielder Paul Pogba, who left for Juventus in 2012.

Pogba is regarded as one of the world's best midfielders, and has a chance to prove it at the upcoming European Championships.

We have taken a look at what United's XI next season could look like with both Bailly and Pogba in the starting line-up.

David de Gea starts in goal, with Jose Mourinho's arrival likely to appease any concerns the Spaniard has over the club's direction.

Bailly would form a partnership at the back with England ace Chris Smalling, while Luke Shaw should reclaim his starting place at left-back after recovering from injury.

Right-back is an uncertainty, but promising Dutchman Timothy Fosu-Mensah could outperform Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian to win the spot.

Pogba would be an automatic fixture in midfield, able to go box-to-box, and would benefit from having fellow Frenchman Morgan Schneiderlin in a holding role could be the ideal solution.

Wayne Rooney would get the nod in attacking midfield with Anthony Martial on the left, working on the assumption that the strongly linked Zlatan Ibrahimovic is signed to play up front, with SkySports reporting a deal is close.

The right wing is a problematic position but it is doubtful based on their time at Chelsea that Mourinho would make Juan Mata a starter there.

He could look to sign an attacker like Antoine Griezmann, but based on the options available, Van Gaal outcast Memphis Depay could stand a strong chance of blossoming with a fresh start.
