The striker was in sensational form this past season as he managed an incredible 40-goal haul. The 25-year-old now sits on a total of 67 Celtic goals, leaving him 33 strikes short of hitting 100 at the club.
He would be on an exclusive list of former Celtic stars should he manage to hit that total, a club that includes the likes of Henrik Larsson, Jimmy McGrory, Bobby Lennox and John Hartson.
And he says that he is confident of making it if he can avoid injury and suspension next season.
“If I can keep having a consistent run in the team like I did last season then I'm confident of getting there,” he told celticfc.net.
“I need 33 more goals to get to the 100-mark, so hopefully next season I can do that. Obviously to join the 100 club would make me among an elite band of players and hopefully I can start making a name for myself.”
Celtic will certainly need Griffiths to be in similar form next season with the Scottish Premiership sure to be a fiercely contested division.
Rangers have made their return to the top flight and are keen to make a mark under Mark Warburton, while the likes of Hearts and Aberdeen should also be contenders.
And if Celtic are to be champions again, they will need Griffiths finding the back of the net on a regular basis once more.
