Jeremy Pied 4
Both clubs are in the market for a new right back this summer; Sunderland saw Adam Matthews, Billy Jones and Spurs loanee DeAndre Yedlin play there with varying degrees of success, whilst free agent signing Emmanuel Eboue came and went without playing a game.
Meanwhile, West Ham saw Arsenal loanee Carl Jenkinson suffer a season-ending injury in January, and with January signing Sam Byram also suffering some injury problems, winger Michail Antonio was pressed into action at right back for the final few games of the season.
With a right back on the shopping lists of both Sam Allardyce and Slaven Bilic, they seem to have set their sights on the same player - Frenchman Jeremy Pied.
France Football report that Bordeaux and Saint-Etienne are both keen on Pied, but the player - who is currently on holiday - has also received proposals from both Sunderland and West Ham.
The former Lyon man, 27, can play at right back or on the right of midfield, and is a free agent this summer after his contract with Nice expires.
With 33 appearances this past season, Pied was a regular for Nice and proved he could play week-in and week-out - something which has no doubt factored into Allardyce and Bilic deciding to offer him a deal.
Do you think Pied should choose Sunderland or West Ham?
