Newcastle United will offer Andros Townsend a new contract in order to retain his services next season, according to The Daily Express.
Townsend has been linked with a move away from Newcastle in the summer transfer window.
As many as three Premier League clubs are reported to be interested in securing the services of the former Tottenham Hotspur winger in the summer transfer window.
The Daily Express has claimed that Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Southampton are all interested in the England international.
It has been reported that Newcastle are planning to offer Townsend an improved deal in order to convince him to remain at St. James’ Park.
“That could see his £55,000-per-week wages rise to around £75,000, making him the best-paid player in the Championship next season,” states the report in The Daily Express.
The Englishman joined the Magpies from North London outfit Tottenham in the January transfer window.
Townsend scored four goals and created 26 chances in 13 Premier League appearances for Newcastle this past season.
