Pardew watching Belgium: Three players he could target for Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew

The Eagles boss has admitted 'one or two' Belgians have caught his eye as prospective signings.

"I've seen a fair bit of Belgium as one or two of their players interest me as potential signings for Crystal Palace," wrote Eagles boss Alan Pardew in his Daily Mail column.

But in a team packed with multi-million-pound stars, who exactly does Pards have his eye on?

Here are three possible targets:

3) Jason Denayer

Reports suggest Denayer is wanted by Pep Guardiola following the culmination of his loan spell at Galatasaray. But should the Spaniard's pursuit of centre-backs John Stones and Aymeric Laporte bear fruit, the 20-year-old may need to consider his options. It's not been a productive campaign for either Denayer or his temporary employers, though he excelled at Celtic the season before last and a move to Palace could be the next logical step in his development.

2) Christian Kabasele

Few outside have Belgium will have heard of Kabasele prior to the Red Devils' recent squad announcement, though big things are expected of the uncapped Genk centre-back, who has profited from a spate of injuries to his country's back line. With four out of contract in Kabasele's position (Brede Hangeland, Damien Delaney, Paddy McCarthy and Adrian Mariappa), the 25-year-old - like Denayer - would fill a void at Selhurst Park.

1) Christian Benteke

From one Christian to another now... Despite what Pardew said about Benteke in March (the 54-year-old accused him of diving to win Liverpool a penalty) there's not a chance he wouldn't want him leading the Eagles' line next term. Emmanuel Adebayor and Marouane Chamakh are soon-to-be free agents, while Dwight Gayle has also been linked with a move away - making a new striker a high priority.
