Everton supporters appear to be delighted with the rumours that Southampton boss Ronald Koeman could bring Virgil Van Dijk with him to Goodison Park.

The Daily Mirror suggested that Van Dijk will become an Everton target, once Koeman moves to the Merseyside club.

Koeman is expected to be announced as the new Everton manager in the coming days, and he is set to be backed with masses of funds.

Everton are believed to be keen to invest some of their money in attempting to bring Van Dijk to Merseyside, and Toffees supporters are excited by the developments.

Southampton fans, meanwhile, seem to suggest that Van Dijk will stay with them.

The Dutch defender has had a highly impressive first campaign in English football, after moving from Celtic last summer.

Southampton followers clearly do not want Van Dijk to leave, and they have made their feelings known on social media.

Van Dijk made 34 Premier League appearances for the Saints last season, scoring on three occasions.
