Reports emerged recently from Sky Sports that former Celtic manager Neil Lennon is in talks regarding the vacant managerial position at Hibernian and it looks all but certain that the 44-year-old will be taking over the reins at Easter Road in due course.

Hibernian recently lost the services of Alan Stubbs to English Championship club Rotherham United and the Scottish Cup champions have seemingly identified Lennon as the ideal replacement for the 44-year-old.

Lennon has been out of a job since his departure from Bolton Wanderers back in March and he had been touted for a move back to Scotland with Celtic. However, the Hoops decided to appoint Brendan Rodgers instead and with Lennon available, Hibs have made their move.

Lennon is certainly a manager of a very high caliber and he has managed at the top level already. As a result, one would suspect that the Northern Irishman will prove to be a good appointment for Hibs.

Despite Lennon’s pedigree though, not many Hibernian fans are too pleased with the idea of the former Celtic boss as the club’s manager and they have gone on to make their feelings clear through social media website Twitter.
