According to Bild, Koln want as much as €20million, around £15million, for full back Jonas Hector who has been linked with a move to Liverpool.

Liverpool are set to be busy this summer as Jurgen Klopp looks to improve the squad he inherited from Brendan Rodgers.

One area that looks set for a major overhaul is the defence given it has been a problem area for some time.

The left back position in particular will need attention, with Alberto Moreno failing to prove he is the long-term answer for that role.

That need for a full back has led to links with Koln star Jonas Hector, with the Mirror reporting two months ago that Klopp had sent scouts to watch the player.

However, it seems he would be an expensive purchase, with Bild reporting that Koln want as much as £15million for his services.

Rumours this weekend had suggested that a move was on the cards, but Koln sporting director Jörg Schmadtke has rubbished those claims.

Instead, he insists that the fees being suggested show that the Reds must not be serious in their pursuit of the player.

"There is no offer from Liverpool. At the sums being bandied around we see that it can not be a serious matter,” he reportedly told Bild.
