Answering a fan question on Twitter, Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has named Cristiano Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane and Gunter Netzer as the fantasy players he would sign for Arsenal.

Arsenal are expected to be busy in this summer transfer window as they look to bounce back from what has been deemed a disappointing season for them.

They have already secured a big money move for Switzerland star Granit Xhaka, while a £20million bid for Leicester City star Jamie Vardy has also been tabled.

They are unlikely to be the only arrivals at the Emirates, with many believing several big signings are needed to transform them into title contenders.

And when asked what three players that he would sign were he in charge of the transfer policy, Ozil came up with an interesting answer.

Of the trio, it will be Netzer who will likely be unfamiliar to the Gunners fan base, given the household status Zidane and Ronaldo enjoy.

Netzer was actually part of the West Germany team that won the European Championships in 1972, and the World Cup in 1974, while he also enjoyed success at Real Madrid and Borussia Monchengladbach.
