Arsenal may have received a boost in their hunt to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with reports Borussia Dortmund are closing on a deal for a potential replacement.

German channel Sport1 report Dortmund are close to tying up a deal to sign Mexican international Jurgen Damm, citing claims from Fox Sports in the US that he is hoping to complete a move to the German giants.

Sport1 report that Damm would potentially take Mkhitaryan's place in the squad with his ability t play in the same positions, adding that Dortmund are willing to sell the Armenian international if he does not agree to extend his contract which expires next summer.

Damm plays for Mexican side Tigres, and is among the fastest players in the world, Yahoo Sports reported last year. He has a German passport and Dortmund will not have any work permit issues to negotiate.
