According to a report in the Birmingham Mail, Chelsea are demanding £10 million for striker Patrick Bamford.
Bamford has been targeted by both Aston Villa and Newcastle United, with the newly relegated pair wanting an immediate return to the top flight.
Villa and Newcastle believe that signing a proven scorer at Championship level will be key and Bamford fits the bill.
The England youth international has scored prolifically in the second tier, while on loan spells with both Middlesbrough and Derby County earlier in his career.
Both Newcastle and Villa reportedly feel the 22-year-old would enhance their attacking options, as they look to assemble squads capable of finishing in the Championship’s top two next season.
Newcastle also have their eyes on Ross McCormack, as Rafael Benitez draws up his transfer plans at St. James’ Park.
Villa, meanwhile, are likely to lose Jordan Ayew this summer, and they feel Bamford would be an ideal replacement for the Ghanian international.
Bamford made 16 appearances during loan spells with both Norwich City and Crystal Palace last season, but he failed to score.
