UBS has hired Laurent Dhome from JPMorgan as managing director at the bank’s financial sponsors team in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Bloomberg News reports that Dhome, who has relationships with financial sponsors in Europe, particularly in France, will report to the bank’s global co-head of financial sponsors Simona Maellare, according to a memo obtained by Bloomberg News and confirmed by a UBS spokeswoman.

In the meantime, Bloomberg also reports that David Weaver has retired from Jefferies after nine years as chief executive and chairman of the US investment bank's international operations.

He has been replaced by Tim Cronin who has become Jefferies International's CEO, in addition to continuing to oversee the firm's fixed income business in Europe and Asia, a person familiar with the matter said.
