Diego Laxalt playing for Inter Milan
According to the major Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport, Tottenham Hotspur and Watford are interested in signing Inter Milan winger Diego Laxalt.
Laxalt, 23, emerged as a wonderkid during his time with Defensor Sporting and the Uruguayan Under-20 side, and he earned a huge move to Inter Milan in January 2013 off the back of that potential.
Primarily a left winger who can also play in central midfield, as well as at wing back, Laxalt has yet to play a competitive game for Inter, having spent almost all of his time away on loan with Italian rivals.
Laxalt spent the 2013/14 season at Bologna before joining Empoli for the first half of the 2014/15 season, and then joined Genoa on an 18-month loan deal.
Last season saw Laxalt play just eight times for Genoa, but this term he has been a key player, racking up 35 appearances, scoring three goals and notching four assists.
Now, Laxalt is heading back to Inter Milan - or possibly not. Major Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport report that Laxalt has 'concrete interest' from two Premier League clubs; Tottenham Hotspur and Watford.
Spurs are searching for another winger this summer after some inconsistent displays from Son Heung-min and Nacer Chadli this past season, and whilst Laxalt may not set pulses racing at White Hart Lane, he could be a smart addition from Mauricio Pochettino thanks to his pace and versatility.
Meanwhile, Watford are now managed by Walter Mazzarri, who signed Laxalt for Inter more than three years ago - and a reunion could be appealing to the Uruguayan, but with Genoa keen to land him permanently, this could be an interesting transfer battle this summer.
