Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes
Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes has told Marca that he is a big fan of Jose Mourinho, as Manchester United reportedly line up a move for him.
Gomes, 22, had played just 41 games for Benfica in his native Portugal before earning a big move to Spain with Valencia, where his performances appear to have attracted major interest.
Having hit nine goals and five assists in 77 games, Gomes has established himself as a key player for Valencia, and is set to feature for Portugal at this summer's European Championships in France.
Recent reports from Sky Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio suggested that Juventus are keen on Gomes, but Manchester United were more willing to pay the alleged €40m (£31.5m) asking price as new manager Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his midfield.
Gomes' agent is Mourinho's compatriot and close friend Jorge Mendes, which has sparked talk of a move to Old Trafford - and the midfielder himself has added fuel to the fire by discussing Mourino.
Speaking to Marca, Gomes has admitted that he thinks Mourinho is a great coach - but is trying to focus on Portugal's Euro 2016 campaign, which gets started next week.

"Mourinho is a great coach, there is no doubt about that, but for now my future is left to one side," said Gomes. "I am not at all concerned with what will happen after the European Championship, I look forward to the tournament starting," he added.
Marca also report that Valencia are becoming increasingly aware of growing interest from United, and whilst they see the midfielder as 'unsellable', an incredible offer from the Red Devils could see Gomes end up at Old Trafford this summer, handing him the chance to work with Mourinho.
