West Bromwich Albion’s Saido Berahino will likely once again dominate the headlines at The Hawthorns this summer as a number of Premier League clubs have been linked with making a move.

The talented forward came close to joining Tottenham Hotspur last summer after Spurs made multiple bids for him, although somewhat against the odds he remained with the Baggies.

With his contract set to expire in 2017, it is unlikely he will stay this time around and a recent report in the Daily Mail suggested Stoke City and Crystal Palace had joined the list of clubs interested in signing him.

West Brom should sell him now rather than risk losing him for nothing next summer, and one player who could act as a viable replacement is Wolfsburg’s out of favour striker Bas Dost.

A report in the Dutch publication Telesport over the past few days suggested that Wolfsburg are willing to sell him this summer, and a move back to the Eredivisie with Feyenoord is an option.

The 27-year-old forward is a natural goal scorer having netted 24 Bundesliga goals in 31 starts over the past two seasons, yet the German club have mainly restricted him to a place on the bench.

This past season Dost started just 14 league matches, despite netting an impressive eight goals.

Aside from his goal scoring abilities, Dost is extremely strong in the air, averaging 3.1 aerial duels won per league match, and seems very much like a Tony Pulis type striker with strong work rate.

West Brom will need a new striker should the inevitable happen and Berahino departs the club this summer, and not too many of Dost’s quality will be available for what could be a potential bargain price.
