Aston Villa should cash in on Jordan Amavi and buy Swansea City's Neil Taylor

Aston Villa’s Jordan Amavi could leave the club this summer.

Aston Villa's Jordan Amavi

Aston Villa left-back Jordan Amavi has been tipped to leave the club this summer following his side’s relegation to the Championship, with Talksport recently crediting Liverpool with an interest.

The France international spent much of this past season on the side-lines nursing a long-term injury, yet before he suffered his setback he showed great ability in the English top flight.

Amavi is quick, intelligent both in and out of possession and boasts Premier League qualities. As a result Villa will struggle to keep hold of him and the option is there to sell him for a probable eight-figure sum.

The Villans, under new boss Roberto Di Matteo, have a rebuilding job on their hands and one option they should undertake is the selling of Amavi and replacing him with Swansea City’s Neil Taylor.

According to a fresh report in the Mirror, the Swans are happy to sell Taylor this summer as they believe the younger Stephen Kingsley had what it takes to replace him while being in the market for a new left-back.

Taylor is a steady Premier League full-back, making 33 starts for Swansea this past season yet he could struggle to find himself another top flight club with so few in need of bringing in another left-back.

The 27-year-old may find his only choice is to drop down a division, and Villa represent a fine option as the club have already illustrated ambition in regards to making an immediate return to the Premier League.

Taylor, a Wales international, would no doubt be a top player in the Championship and Villa could potentially get him at a fraction of what they may receive from a likely Jordan Amavi sale this summer.
