According to The Sun, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers wants Liverpool's Andre Wisdom, having failed in a move for Joe Gomez.
The new Bhoys boss will be looking to give a chance to everybody in the Celtic squad having been appointed last month, but it's no great secret that he needs to improve his defence.
Dedryck Boyata endured and up-and-down debut season, Jozo Simunovic suffered a host of injuries whilst Efe Ambrose continues to be error-prone, with Erik Sviatchenko at least offering one solid centre back at Celtic Park.
Now, Rodgers could make a defender his first signing, but won't be Liverpool's Joe Gomez, after Jurgen Klopp snubbed Rodgers' attempt to take the teenager on loan, according to The Sun.
However, the same report claims that Rodgers will instead turn his attentions to another Liverpool defender, as he will target a reunion with Andre Wisdom.
The 23-year-old, who joined Liverpool from Bradford City back in January 2008 aged just 14, has progressed at Anfield to become a first-team player, making 22 appearances for the Reds.
Most of his time has been spent out on loan though, having spent time with Derby County, West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City, and the report claims that he now feels it may be time to leave Anfield for good.
It's suggested that Rodgers sees Wisdom, who can play at right back or centre back, as a key signing this summer, and will offer £3m to reunite with him, having handed him his debut in 2012.
With Klopp keen to keep the aforementioned Gomez, Wisdom could be available for a move to Celtic - and a reunion with Rodgers may be appealing as he seeks first-team football.
