Blackburn Rovers manager Owen Coyle does not want to sell Grant Hanley in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.

The 24-year-old defender has been on the books of Blackburn his entire professional career so far and has a contract with the Championship club until June 2018.

According to The Sun, Championship rivals Derby County want to sign the Scotland international, but newly-appointed Rovers manager Coyle wants to retain his services.

Back in March, The Times claimed that Rangers manager Mark Warburton wants to add Hanley to his squad.

It now seems that both Derby and Rangers will find it tough to sign the defender, as Coyle reportedly wants him in his squad for next season.

However, Derby and Rangers can offer what Blackburn cannot, and that is to achieve something meaningful next season.

While the Rams will be aiming for a top-two finish in the Championship during the 2016-17 campaign, Rangers will be looking to compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title.
