The Three Lions kick off their Group B campaign next Saturday by clashing with Russia in Marseille, before facing Wales five days later and then Slovakia on June 20.
England, as they so often do, will bring a very impressive young squad to France with them, but they have perhaps under-achieved when it comes to major tournaments, with Roy Hodgson's side failing to even get out of the group stage at the World Cup in 2014.
There is also tangible optimism regarding the emergence of Alli after the 20-year-old enjoyed a phenomenal first season with Tottenham, but will he fulfill that same promise on the international stage?
Englishman Roberts, who is on loan with Celtic from Manchester City, says that the youngster has done "very well" since breaking into the international set-up.
“At the moment, though, we’ve seen Jamie Vardy do very well alongside Harry Kane, Dele Alli has done very well and others have too so there are a lot of expectations," the 19-year-old attacker said via Inside Futbol.
"But that’s because of how big the league is and how many people watch it from all over the world. Expectations are always high but I’m sure they will do well.”
One thing which could cost Alli big time is his mentality. The hot-headed midfielder has made headlines for wrong reasons, too, and England's opposition might seek to get under his skin in the weeks ahead in an effort to gain an advantage.
