Aston Villa fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to speculation linking the club with a move for Chelsea youngster Patrick Bamford in the summer transfer window.
As reported on The Mirror’s Transfer news LIVE blog (17:58, June 5), Villa are interested in signing Bamford from Premier League outfit Chelsea this summer.
It has been reported that newly-appointed Villa manager Roberto Di Matteo hopes that his connections at Chelsea help him sign the promising young forward.
The Italian is a former Chelsea manager and guided the Blues to Champions League success in 2012.
Bamford is a talented young forward who has been a success in the Championship already. The England Under-21 international played on loan for Middlesbrough from Chelsea during the 2014-15 season.
The youngster had a great spell at the Riverside Stadium, as he scored 16 goals and created 28 chances in 40 Championship appearances for Boro.
Villa fans have taken to Twitter to have their say on the prospect of the Magpies signing Bamford from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

Bamford is only being linked because of the RDM/Clarke Chelsea connection. Easy one for lazy journo to dream up #avfc— keith villan (@keithvillan) June 5, 2016
I'd take Dorrans and Bamford, solely because they're better than 95% of our current squad #avfc— Matt AVFC (@everysongsung) June 5, 2016
would love us to sign Bamford he would score bucket loads of goals for us next season #AVFC— Garin Williams (@GarinWilliams) June 5, 2016
Bamford would be a great signing for Villa, proven in Championship. Could then get rid of Gabby & Kozak and try to keep hold of Ayew #avfc— Rossa (@rossac25) June 5, 2016
Time to back RDM, hope he uses those Chelsea links to get in Bamford! #avfc— Tom (@TomPaz1984) June 3, 2016
