According to The Sun, Southampton could face a player exodus should Ronald Koeman join Everton.
The report claims that Victor Wanyama, Shane Long, Jordy Clasie, Sadio Mane, Graziano Pelle and Fraser Forster could leave with the latter linked with joining Koeman at Everton.
The Saints will be way of what could follow after experiencing a similar fate when Mauricio Pochettino opted to trade the south coast for Premier League title challengers Tottenham Hotspur.
Koeman has done a terrific job at Southampton, yet the pull of Everton amid their increased finances could be enough to sway him into leaving all the progress made St. Mary’s behind.
And should he leave, The Sun claim as many as six first-team players could follow him out of the exit door.
The report names Tottenham as a possible destination for both Wanyama and Long, while a return to Italy could be in store for Pelle and a potential big-money move to a top club in line for Mane.
Clasie, a player Koeman knew well before signing him from Feyenoord last summer is also tipped to go, while goalkeeper Fraser Forster has been identified as an ideal addition for Everton who seek a new goalkeeper.
The next week or so could prove critical for Southampton and their immediate future, though they have been in this position before and the experience should stand them in good stead.
