According to Portuguese newspaper Record, Tottenham Hotspur are battling Sporting Lisbon and Napoli for the signature of Rennes defender Sega Coulibaly.

Young players around the world will think of Tottenham as a club where they can develop with a clear path to the first team, and we could yet see Spurs add more young talent this summer.

Record report that Tottenham are interested in landing Rennes teenager Sega Coulibaly, but are in a race with Sporting Lisbon and Napoli for his signature.

Coulibaly, 19, has just played for France at the Toulon Tournament, and he appears to be attracting interest due to his contract situation with Ligue 1 side Rennes.

Coulibaly is out of contract this summer and can therefore move on to another club of his choice, but Rennes will be due a compensation fee of just €400,000 (£313,000) - meaning big clubs like Spurs, Sporting Lisbon and Napoli are now interested.

The centre back now has a big decision to make this summer, and Spurs will be hoping that he chooses them as they continue to build a team for the future as well as the present.
