The Danish international will be looking forward to working under Brendan Rodgers.

Celtic’s players will no doubt be thinking about next season already, as they look to impress their new boss Brendan Rodgers.

First impressions could prove key so nobody will want to be heading back to Glasgow after the summer carrying any extra weight around the midriff.

It certainly seems as though that is the case for their Danish defender Erik Sviatchenko.

The centre-back sent out this tweet earlier today showing off his exercise regime in his native Denmark – and it appears as though the weather is nicer over there than in Glasgow this weekend:

The Danish defender joined Celtic from FC Midtjylland in January and has had to battle some injury problems.

However, he has also impressed when he has featured and looks like a future star for the Celtic first-team and a potential Brendan Rodgers favourite going forward.

He will be hoping to get himself into his best condition prior to meeting his new boss for the first time this summer and proving himself worthy of a spot in the Celtic first-team going forward.

Maybe he can bring some of that unseasonal Danish weather with him when he arrives back in Scotland.
