Matt Le Tissier has taken to social networking site Twitter to claim that Southampton would not suffer if Ronald Koeman left this summer.
Koeman has been in charge of Southampton since the summer of 2014 and has a contract until June 2017, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
According to BBC Sport, Everton are in talks with Southampton over Koeman as the Toffees want the Dutchman to succeed Roberto Martinez at Goodison Park.
Southampton legend Le Tissier has suggested on Twitter that the club would not suffer if Koeman left.
The former England international attacking midfielder has used the example of Mauricio Pochettino to prove his point.
Pochettino was in charge of Southampton from January 2013 until the end of the 2013-14 season.
The Argentina boss did a wonderful job at St. Mary’s Stadium, and it led to him becoming the Tottenham Hotspur boss in the summer of 2014.
Koeman came in, and the team continued to make progress and have qualified for the group stage of the 2016-17 Europa League campaign.
