Garry Monk has been appointed as the new Leeds United head coach.
Newly-appointed Leeds United head coach Garry Monk has explained to The Yorkshire Post how his playing style will be.
The West Yorkshire outfit’s fans will also want to see some good and entertaining football from the team next season.
Monk, whose only previous managerial experience is at Swansea City, has explained how Leeds are going to play under him during the 2016-17 campaign.
“I just want the players to be excited and like aggressive, front-foot football,” Monk told The Yorkshire Post about his footballing philosophy.
“I don’t like to play passive football, but there are times where we need to be adaptable and cannot always have it our own way.
“It is improving the players in terms of their cleverness in approaching games. But I want the fans to be excited and for us to be playing front-foot, attacking football.”
Leeds have some good and talented young players, and the squad will be able to at least challenge for the Championship playoffs if a few more quality footballers are signed in the summer transfer window.
From Monk’s comments, it seems that Leeds fans can expect the team to play attacking and fast football next season.
The West Yorkshire outfit’s supporters should be excited and optimistic about the 2016-17 Championship campaign.
