Arsenal have been linked with Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy.

As shown by the graphic above, Arsenal’s starting eleven could look quite different next season with Granit Xhaka joining the club and Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy heavily linked.

A recent report in the Daily Mail claims the Gunners are expected to complete a shock £20 million deal for Vardy after heavy speculation surrounding the forward’s future with the Foxes.

Many Premier League observers have suggested that Arsenal need to strengthen their attacking line if they are to end their 12-year run without a league title, and Vardy seemingly fits the bill.

The England international netted an impressive 24 goals during Leicester’s title win this past season, yet it’s his pace and intensity off the ball which has seen him earn all the plaudits.

The Gunners tend to play a 4-2-3-1 formation with Olivier Giroud leading the line, yet Vardy would provide the North London club with a completely different threat due to his ability to go in behind.

During Arsene Wenger’s early years as manager he had the likes of Ian Wright, Thierry Henry, Nicolas Anelka and Sylvain Wiltord who could go in behind though in recent times that hasn’t been the case.

Granit Xhaka will surely become a first-team regular and his presence, perhaps alongside Mohamed Elneny, may prompt Wenger to push Cazorla a little further forward in a more creative role.

It leaves questions over the likes of Francis Coquelin, Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, yet Arsenals biggest weapon next season could be their strength in depth.

The club have a history of picking up plenty of injuries during the season so perhaps the best course of action is to simply have an outstanding squad with depth and options in all areas.
