Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is reportedly wanted by Premier League rivals Everton.

Southampton forward Shane Long has told Sky Sports that he hopes that manager Ronald Koeman remains at the club.

According to The Sun, Everton are interested in appointing Koeman as their new manager.

It has been reported that the Toffees hope that their offer of £6 million per year will see the former Feyenoord boss take the managerial job at Goodison Park by next week.

Long hopes that Koeman remains at Southampton next season, but he has admitted that he is unaware of what is going on at the moment as he is on international duty with the Republic of Ireland.

“He’s been brilliant for me, you can see how much my game has come on and I hope he does stay,” Long told Sky Sports about Koeman.

“We are kind of cut off from the outside world here. I don’t know much about what’s going on. I think you know more than I do. Hopefully he’s still there come the summer, but we’ll see.”

Long himself has been linked with a move away from Southampton in the summer transfer window.

According to a recent report in The Mirror, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the former West Bromwich Albion and Hull City forward this summer.
