Leicester City claimed the Premier League title last season, much to everyone’s surprise but if the Foxes are to retain their crown next term, they will surely have to strengthen the ranks during the upcoming summer transfer window.
A host of names have been linked with a move to the King Power Stadium over the past few weeks and Sporting Gijon star Luis Hernandez has been regularly mentioned as a target for Leicester.
Hernandez has been one of the most consistent defenders in La Liga over the past few years and it looks like the 27-year-old is planning to leave Sporting for a new adventure after refusing to sign an extension to his contract which expires in June.
Now the Leicester Mercury claims that Leicester are set to complete the signing of Hernandez. The report state that the Real Madrid youth product has already visited The Foxes’ training complex and is expected to put pen to paper on a deal very soon.
Leicester seem likely to lose the duo of Marcin Wasilewski and Yohan Benalouane in the summer and Hernandez is believed to be viewed as an understudy to the experienced pairing of Robert Huth and Wes Morgan.
