Leeds United winger Stuart Dallas will be representing his nation in the European Championships this summer.

The wide-man, who was signed from Brentford last summer, has established himself as a regular in Michael O’Neill’s Northern Ireland starting XI and will hope to thrive across the Channel.

Dallas also has fond memories of France, in particular the French capital.

He explained to the Belfast Telegraph this week that he actually got engaged in Paris back in November 2013:

"A couple of years ago I was in Paris and got engaged, so I have fond memories about France for sure. It was in November 2013.

"It'll be a bit different in Paris this time obviously with Northern Ireland.

"I'm sure it will be a great experience. It's something that will live with me for the rest of my life."

Dallas got engaged to his fiancé Juneve, a childhood sweetheart, in the French capital and has been given special permission by O’Neill to fly home from camp to get married in County Monaghan today.

A fantastic occasion for the Leeds star but afterward his attention will have to swiftly switch to taking on the likes of Poland, Ukraine and Germany in their group stage clashes.

They take on Germany, the World Champions, last and will do so in Paris – at PSG’s Parc des Prince stadium.

The newlywed Leeds star will hope he can create yet another special memory in Paris on the 21st June.
