Speaking to ITV Sport, Arsenal legend Lee Dixon has claimed that it would take just 17 minutes for him to get England and Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli sent off.

The 20-year-old midfielder has burst on to the scene for Spurs over the past nine months or so, netting 10 Premier League goals in a hugely successful first full season for the North London club.

But the former MK Dons man - who cost a meagre £5 million just 18 months ago - perhaps has something of a temper and missed Tottenham's last three games this past season through suspension following a punch on West Brom's Claudio Yacob.

He also made headlines for the wrong reasons in the Lilywhites' Europa League campaign for a similar incident, proving that although he has the potential to be world class, there are certainly creases to iron out before then.

With Euro 2016 on the horizon, Alli might well find his tempestuous nature targeted as opposition players and managers seek to secure an advantage, and Dixon says he needs to be "very careful" with his behaviour over in France.

"I honestly reckon - and this is something he's got to learn - but at the moment I honestly reckon I could get him sent off in 17 minutes," the Arsenal legend said to ITV Sport following England's lacklustre 1-0 win over 10-man Portugal. "But that's all about him learning, and he will do, but in the tournament he has to be very careful."

The Three Lions kick off their campaign on June 11 by clashing with Russia, before facing Wales five days later and Slovakia on the 20th.
