The Toffees faithful have warmly welcomed the news, and Stubbs is among those praising the potential move, saying he would be the perfect candidate for his former side.
“I think he is the perfect candidate,” he told talkSPORT.
“He is an exciting manager, he has done fantastic in the Premier League and his profile and demeanor is one that would really connect with the Everton fans."

If Koeman is confirmed as the new Everton manager, it looks set to be a busy summer for them.
It has been stated that the Blues need something of a rebuild in the transfer window and reports have claimed that the Dutchman will be offered as much as £100imllion to spend.
That would be a serious transfer fund for the Toffees, who it appears could be major players in the transfer market this year.
