Quoted by Inside Futbol, Newcastle United midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has revealed that he will decide his future after he gets back from holiday.

The 25-year-old was a rare positive in an otherwise dismal Premier League campaign for Newcastle this past season, with the Magpies being relegated to the Championship.

It has been suggested that the Dutch winger is too good for England's second tier, with Italian publication II Massaggero reporting that Roma are interested in offering him an escape route.

That being said, Newcastle's assets will be thinking twice about leaving following Rafael Benitez's decision to stay on as manager. The Spaniard's presence at St James's Park will be key to welcoming new players and in turn their hopes of winning promotion.

Wijnaldum says that not a day goes by when he is not quizzed on his future, whether it's the media or his own family, but the former PSV man says that he will make a decision upon returning from his holiday.

“Every day I am being asked about my future, not just by journalists, but also by my friends and family”, he told Dutch Fox Sports, quoted by Inside Futbol.

“My first focus is the national team and then after the holidays I'll see what happens. I'm working on it, but it's not easy.”

Keeping Wijnaldum would be another huge boost for Newcastle. His commitment, combined with Benitez's, would make it difficult for others to leave.

Wijnaldum scored 11 Premier League goals for Newcastle in his ill-fated maiden year on Tyneside, though four of them came in the one match following a 6-2 win over Norwich City during Steve McClaren's short stint in charge.
