The Scottish Sun have reported that Valdir Barbosa's exit from Brazilian outfit Cortiba will not affect Colin Kazim-Richards's proposed move from Celtic.
The Director of Football was sacked this week, throwing the deal for Kazim-Richards into some doubt given that he was said to be the driving force behind the move.
The Turkey international has been something of a disappointment since joining Celtic.
Former manager Ronny Deila signed him from Feyenoord on a two-and-a-half year deal in January, but he has struggled to impress and we'll never know whether Deila would have kept him had he not been sacked.
If the transfer materialises, it is a positive sign by new manager Brendan Rodgers as he looks to clear out the deadwood at Paradise.
There are still other big names which might need moving on, but the Northern Irishman seems ruthless enough to ensure that Kazim-Richards is the first in a series of departures.
