According to a report in the Daily Mirror, Everton are set to step up their chase for Southampton manager Ronald Koeman.
Everton have been tracking Koeman for some time, but initially the Dutch boss stated his desire to remain at St. Mary’s.
Koeman still has a year left on his contract with Southampton, and it seemed that he was set to stay with the south coast club.
However, Koeman’s discussions over a new contract with the Saints have reportedly stalled, and Everton are now ready to pounce.
The Toffees are believed to be confident of persuading Koeman to move, and they are planning to take a step closer to convincing him to move to Merseyside in the next week.
Everton feel that they can offer Koeman a big pay-rise to move to them, and also give him a sizeable transfer budget.
The Toffees have new investment from Farhad Moshiri, and they are reportedly planning to spend big this summer.
If Everton are unsuccessful in landing Koeman, they could reportedly make moves for Sevilla boss Unai Emery or Manuel Pellegrini.
