Kyle Walker moved a step closer to securing England's right-back spot for Euro 2016 with another assured display in a friendly win over Portugal.

In addition to helping the Three Lions to a clean sheet over their opponents at Wembley, Walker also offered a strong attacking outlet and sought to get forward as often as possible.

Walker was already in pole position to start England's first game ahead of Nathaniel Clyne, simply by being selected for this final warm up game, and did nothing to show that manager Roy Hodgson had made the wrong decision.

The Tottenham Hotspur defender was one of five club mates to start in the XI, and was picked out as man-of-the-match for his excellent display.

The right-back made 86 touches against Portugal, more than any player on the pitch, while completed 81 per cent of his passes.

He created one chance, and had one shot, which landed off target. Defensively he contributed by making 10 clearances, more than any England player, also leading the team with three interceptions, and made two tackles.

Walker was praised on social media for his performance. Here is a look at a selection of reaction from supporters...
