Spurs could be on the lookout for a new number 1 if reports in Wednesday's media are accurate.
Tottenham's Hugo Lloris and Eric Dier look dejected
The France goalkeeper, who was last week listed as a target for Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, is said to have turned down Spurs' offer of a new contract - apparently requesting wage parity with other goalkeepers on his level.
Lloris is a key player at White Hart Lane, but could he be replaced?
Here are three goalkeepers who Tottenham should target if he the 29-year-old is to depart (they only need one, obviously):
3) Joe Hart
Hart could be on his way out of Manchester City
The England number 1 was linked with a shock £40 million move to Everton last month, with Manchester City said to be lining up Barcelona's Marc-Andre ter Stegen as a replacement. Hart, a four-time Premier League golden glove winner, is the same age as Lloris and his standing as one of the world's best would ensure a seamless transition between the Spurs' sticks. That asking price may need to come down a notch, mind.
2) Sergio Rico
Rico will go to the Euros as Spain's number 3
Having seized his opportunity at the start of last season - following injuries to Sevilla's first and second-choice goalkeepers - Rico has established himself as one of La Liga's finest young shot-stoppers, and features in Vicente Del Bosque's squad for the upcoming European Championship. The 22-year-old signed a new deal until 2019 earlier this year, though it contains a reported buyout clause of £23 million - which Spurs won't struggle afford if Lloris is moved on.
1) Fraser Forster
Forster kept clean sheets in six of his 18 league appearances last season
Though he may have moved to Southampton after Mauricio Pochettino's departure to White Hart Lane two summers ago, the imposing Englishman was no doubt on the Spurs boss' shortlist had he remained on the South Coast. Injury hindered Forster's progress in 2015, though he returned at the turn of the year, establishing himself as one of the Premier League's best, and will go to the Euros as Hart's understudy.
