That being said, it was reported by Gelderlander in April that the Whites - then under manager Steve Evans, who has since been sacked - would be going back in for him, with the initial approach made while Uwe Rosler was in charge of the Whites.
The same Dutch publication has now claimed that the 21-year-old has handed in a transfer request as his future takes yet another twist.
However, it remains to be seen how receptive the attacker would be toward a switch to Elland Road at the moment.
Evans was dismissed this week in a decision which has done little for owner Massimo Cellino in an effort to win hearts in Yorkshire, with the Italian firing six managers in just two years at the club.
Such an environment is hardly all that appealing for a player, and incomings may not start until a new manager is signed, sealed and delivered.
