HITC Sport understands Northern Ireland international agrees League One move.
Shrewsbury Town have agreed a deal to sign Northern Ireland international Ryan McGivern, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Former Manchester City youngster McGivern is a free agent after seeing out his contract at Port Vale earlier this summer.
McGivern joined Port Vale in the summer of 2014 on a free transfer from Hibernian and he made 55 appearances for the club during his time at Vale Park.
The 26-year-old is understood to have agreed a two-year deal at Greenhous Meadow and he will add versatility to Micky Mellon's squad as he can play at left-back and centre-back.
McGivern, who has won 23 caps for Northern Ireland, missed out on a place in Michael O'Neill's 23-man squad for Euro 2016.
Shrewsbury have been busy in the transfer market already this summer and McGivern is set to become their fifth signing following the arrival of Louis Dodds, Olly Lancashire, Gary Deegan and Antoni Sarcevic.
Shrewsbury are also hoping to sign highly-rated Port Vale striker AJ Leitch-Smith after he turned down the offer of a new deal at Vale Park.
