We discuss two players Leeds United could sign if they bring in Garry Monk as manager.
According to recent reports from Sky Sports, Garry Monk is in talks with Leeds United about the prospect of becoming their next manager.
The 37-year-old has been out of work since leaving Swansea City at the end of 2015 and if he were to move to the Whites he may return to his former club for a signing or two.
Here we consider two Swansea players who could make the move to Leeds if Monk takes charge:
It would be no surprise to see Marvin Emnes leave Swansea this summer after the 28-year-old managed just four appearances in all competitions last season.
While he may have struggled for game time in the top flight, there is no doubting the Dutchman’s ability in the second tier after he racked up 162 appearances for Middlesbrough, scoring 31 goals and providing 19 assists in the process.
The vast majority of those came in the Championship and if Monk wants additional fire-power at Leeds next season he could consider a move for a player with just a year left on his current contract and with the versatility to excel with the Whites.
With Leeds in need of additional centre-backs next season, Monk could do a lot worse than bringing in Kyle Bartley.
The 25-year-old was a regular in the Swansea match day squad under his former manager before being cast aside once Francesco Guidolin arrived.
Bartley needs a place he can call home and feature regularly and Elland Road would be perfect for him.
