The Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Liverpool are trying to sign former goalkeeper Pepe Reina back from Napoli.

Liverpool are expected to be busy in this summer transfer window, as Jurgen Klopp goes about revamping the squad he inherited from Brendan Rodgers.

He has already moved to secure three new signings, with Marko Grujic, Joel Matip and Loris Karius already signing on.

More arrivals are expected, and one of those could be a former star, as the German is apparently keen to bring to Pepe Reina back to Anfield.

The report comes courtesy of Corriere dello Sport, which claims that Klopp is targeting Reina, who is currently at Napoli, this summer.

The Spaniard spent eight years on Merseyside, winning the FA Cup and League Cup, and would surely be tempted by a return should it be offered.

Much will rest on how much football the Reds can offer, with Reina having left Anfield when he was replaced by current number one Simon Mignolet back in 2013.

Indeed, should he make a return, it would be interesting to see where that would leave Mignolet, as he would potentially be third in the pecking order at the club.
