Arsenal defender Calum Chambers has been speaking to Team Talk about his hopes for next season, amid rumours that he could be set to leave the Emirates Stadium.

The former Southampton player struggled for game time this season, featuring just 12 times in the Premier League and 22 times in all competitions.

With Hector Bellerin the undisputed first-choice right-back at Arsenal, and another centre-back likely to come in this summer to compete with Per Mertesacker, Gabriel Paulista and Laurent Koscielny, that leaves Chambers with a battle on his hands.

At just 21 he has time on his side, but he has admitted that his priority is getting more minutes when the action kicks off again in August.

“For me, I just want to play games,” Chambers told Team Talk. “But at the moment I am not thinking too much about next season.

“I just want to go and enjoy my summer. Then we’ll get back at it soon.”

Chambers is reportedly attracting interest from Southampton, as well as Swansea City, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Watford, but given his talent Arsenal will surely not want to part with him too soon.

With a contract at the Emirates that runs until the summer of 2020, the most likely prospect next season is a loan spell for Chambers that will allow him to feature in the top flight on a regular basis, similar to the one fellow Gunner Carl Jenkinson had prior to his injury setback at West Ham United.
