Due to the uncertainty surrounding Blackburn Rovers under eccentric owners Venky’s, Paul Lambert decided to leave his position as manager at the end of the 2015/16 Championship campaign.
The Blackburn hierarchy has since begun their search for a replacement for Lambert and a number of names have been linked with the managerial position at Ewood Park over the past few weeks.
Bookies SkyBet have now placed ex-Bolton boss Owen Coyle and former Rangers manager Alex McLeish as the two favourites for the hotseat at Blackburn.
Coyle recently left United States based side Houston Dynamo as he wanted to return back to England and the 49-year-old has been placed as the favourite to take over at Blackburn, with his odds being slashed dramatically over the last 24 hours to 1/8.
McLeish is also currently without a job following a brief stay at Egyptian side Zamalek and the 57-year-old is said to be looking to manage in England once again. Previously placed as the favourite, McLeish’s odds to take the reins at Blackburn have increased to 5/1 but he remains in the running.
