Chuba Akpom spent the season on loan at Hull City.
Hull City’s on loan forward Chuba Akpom has sent supporters a message on Twitter thanking them and the club for supporting him over the season as he heads back to parent club Arsenal.
The talented forward joined Hull from Arsenal on a season-long loan deal and played a role in helping the club to the Championship playoffs, making 36 appearances overall.
Akpom featured for just seven minutes during the playoffs, yet his side in the end did nit need to count on his services as the Tigers secured promotion with a Wembley win over Sheffield Wednesday.
Taking to social networking site after the game, the Gunners youngster sent fans of the Humberside club a message as he thanked everyone associated with them for a positive learning experience.
Hull secured promotion to the top-flight after defeating Derby County 3-2 on aggregate in the semi-finals before completing the job with a slender 1-0 win over the Owls at Wembley.
Hull boss Steve Bruce has a history of loaning players from Arsenal, and most of them have gone on to forge a pretty decent career either in the Premier League or abroad.
Akpom has plenty of potential and at 20 age is certainly on his side, making him a potentially valuable asset for Arsenal.
A return to Hull now they are in the Premier League could be on the cards, yet it is more likely another loan spell in the Championship could be in the reckoning as Akpom needs regular first-team football.
