Ex-Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini celebrates with the trophy after winning the Barclays Premier League
According to the Daily Mail, Everton have contacted Manchester City officials for advice on Manuel Pellegrini, as they want to know whether he's tough enough for the Goodison Park job.

A host of big-name managers have been touted for the job, and one such name is Manuel Pellegrini, who is free to make his next move after leaving Manchester City.
The Chilean, 62, guided City to the Premier League title in his season in charge back in 2013/14, and took the club to the Champions League semi-finals this season - but is leaving the Etihad Stadium to make way for new manager Pep Guardiola.

Yet, having settled in the North West since his 2013 move from Malaga, there's a chance that Pellegrini pushes for the Everton job - and the Daily Mail claim that he held strong talks with the club this week, with Everton officials impressed.
However, they do have some lingering question marks. It's claimed that, having witness Martinez struggle to deal with senior players, they want to know whether Pellegrini's demeanour behind-closed-doors was more forceful than he showed in TV interviews.

Everton are therefore believed to have contacted Manchester City officials to find out a little bit more about Pellegrini's character, as they want a strong manager to take over from Martinez.
Frank de Boer is still thought to be in the mix, and Pellegrini's chances of landing the job may hinge on what Everton find out from City, if reports are to be believed.
