Nottingham Forest recently announced their released and retained list, and there were few surprises in regards to who departed the City Ground on a free transfer.

One of the names on the list was centre-back Kelvin Wilson.

He struggled for first-team football recently at Nottingham Forest with not many of the club’s fans disappointed to see him out of the exit door.

Now it is being suggested a Championship rival might be keen on bringing the former Celtic player to the club.

A report from The News Hub today has suggested that new Cardiff City manager Paul Trollope is keen on bringing him to the Welsh capital.

Cardiff have seen Ben Turner leave the club and Bruno Ecuele Manga has been linked with several moves away from the club.

Wilson, who joined Forest from Celtic in 2013, was in his second spell at Forest after originally spending four years at the club.

The 30-year-old, who featured just 51 times for Forest in his three-year second spell, would be a solid if not spectacular signing for Cardiff ahead of their Championship campaign.
